Bible (DRV) Apocrypha/Deuterocanon, Judith

Judith is the 18th book of the Bible and one of the history books of the Old Testament. The common theme is the power of prayer. The Israelites were surrounded by the forces of Holofernes and prayed to God for victory over this force. Judith seduced Holofernes and beheaded him in his sleep, when the forces found their leader dead, they fled into battle. The Israelites profited from their spoils, and Judith sang praises to God.
