Antología de nueve novelas cortas de Pedro Antonio de Alarcón.
Pedro Antonio de Alarcón y Ariza fue un novelista español del siglo XIX, autor de la novela El Sombrero de Tres Picos (El sombrero de tres picos, 1874). Alarcón escribió otra novela corta popular, El capitán Veneno ('Captain Poison', 1881). Produjo otras cuatro novelas de larga duración. Alarcón también escribió tres libros de viajes y muchos cuentos y ensayos.
