Ernest Baynes was an American naturalist. He wrote articles in newspapers and magazines about nature and animals. He ran a wildlife refuge park in New Hampshire in the early 1900s. He raised and tamed many animals by hand, but was unsuccessful with a bear, which would not stop raiding his pantry. He actively advocated for animal conservation.
