Vào một ngày trời đẹp, chú ngựa và sói đang ung dung đứng trên đồi cỏ xanh lộng gió. Chú ngoe nguẩy cái đuôi ra điều thích thú lắm : - Ôi! cỏ non ở đây mới ngon ngọt làm sao, mình phải ăn cho thật no mới được. Trong khi đó, có một lão sói đang rình rập trong bụi rậm thòm thèm chảy nước miếng, lão nghĩ bụng :- Thằng nhóc này thật là béo bở, mình mà tóm được nó thì tha hồ mà nhấm nháp mấy ngày không hết. Nhưng mà đụng vào nó cũng không dễ đâu. Tuy là nó tha thẩn một mình, nhưng nếu mình vồ trượt, nó co rò bỏ chạy thì mình đuổi theo không kịp.
