The Ballad of Reading Gaol

A reflection on Wilde’s death penalty, The Ballad of Reading Gaol, comes after he was sentenced and grossly jailed. The allegations stem from a relationship with Lord Alfred Douglas, son of the Marquis of Queensberry. This is the story of the execution of a man who killed his wife, which Wild witnessed during his residency.
