The Song of Songs is the 22nd book of the Bible and was written by Solomon. In some translations, this book is called Songs. Also known as the best song.
This metaphorical book is a love song about the court and marriage of a lowly but very comely shepherdess to the great king Solomon. Talk about the joy of love and its pain.
This reading is done in a male voice, but the book has three main speakers. A choir of Shulamite shepherds, King Solomon, and daughters of Jerusalem. Bible scholars also note the allegorical depiction that God is the king and the bride is Israel. In New Testament doctrine, the bride is considered a church and Christ is considered a king.
